9pods vs Coolify
These aren't quite the same category of product, worth being upfront about that before comparing them.
Coolify is a free, open-source, self-hosted PaaS. You install it on your own server, and it gives you a clean web UI over Docker, one-click deploys from a catalog of 280+ services, and Git-based deployment for your own apps. The software itself costs nothing; you pay for and manage the underlying VPS yourself. If you want full control and don't mind being the one who keeps the server patched and running, Coolify is a genuinely excellent tool, and there's also a managed Coolify Cloud option starting at $5/month if you want their team hosting the control plane for you.
9pods is a managed service end to end. There's no server to provision, patch, or babysit, you sign up, pick apps from the catalog, and they run on a VPS we provision and maintain for you. Less control than running Coolify yourself, more hands-off.

Where Coolify has the edge
It's free, open source, and gives you full control over your own infrastructure, including deploying your own custom apps via Git, not just catalog tools. If you already have a VPS and want to manage it yourself, there's no reason to pay anyone for that.
