Configure Uptime Kuma to Monitor Your Other Apps
Once you have a few apps running on your silo, it's worth knowing if one of them goes down before a user tells you. Uptime Kuma is a self-hosted uptime monitor with a clean dashboard and alerting.
1. Install Uptime Kuma
- From your dashboard, go to Marketplace.
- Find Uptime Kuma under the Monitoring category and click Install.
- Open it at its subdomain once it's running.
2. Create an admin account
The first time you open Uptime Kuma, it prompts you to create an admin username and password. This is separate from your 9pods account, it only controls access to your Uptime Kuma dashboard.
3. Add your first monitor
- Click Add New Monitor.
- Choose a monitor type. HTTP(s) is the right choice for checking that a web app (like your n8n or Nextcloud instance) is responding.
- Enter the URL of the app you want to monitor, its 9pods subdomain works fine.
- Set a check interval, 60 seconds is a reasonable default.
- Save.
Repeat this for each app you want visibility into.
4. Set up notifications
- Go to Settings → Notifications.
- Add a notification method, email, Discord, Slack, and many others are supported out of the box.
- Attach the notification to each monitor you want alerts for.
Now if an app on your silo stops responding, you'll know within a minute instead of finding out when someone else does.
